The Year of the Tiger

Where is China’s economy heading in 2022, the Year of the Tiger? Most economists expect China’s central bank, the People’s Bank of China, to continue to cut interest rates in order to reduce borrowing costs and support increased lending. In other words its goal is to use monetary tools to prop up growth in the wake of the slowing real estate sector and the possibility of sluggish consumer spending amid the uncertainties of the Covid pandemic.
